Prayer for the 2020 National Leadership Forum

Inclusive of A Prayer to the Creator from “Fratelli Tutti”

Lord, Father of our human family,
you created all human beings equal in dignity:
pour forth into our hearts a fraternal spirit
and inspire in us a dream of renewed encounter,
dialogue, justice, and peace.
Move us to create healthier societies
and a more dignified world,
a world without hunger, poverty, violence and war.

May our hearts be open
to all the peoples and nations of the earth.
May we recognize the goodness and beauty
that you have sown in each of us,
and thus forge bonds of unity, common projects,
and shared dreams.

Merciful Lord, bless all young adults in our nation
and bless all those who accompany them through the Church.
Bless this National Leadership Forum and all who participate.

May we arise now – to dream, to hope, to aspire,
to contemplate the heavens, the stars and the world around us,
to take a risk, to change the world, and to become who we are.*

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In a culture that makes young people isolated and withdrawn…, let us spread Jesus’ invitation: “Arise!” … “Arise!” is also an invitation to “dream,” to “take a risk,” to be “committed to changing the world,” to rekindle your hopes and aspirations, and to contemplate the heavens, the stars and the world around you. “Arise and become what you are!” (11 Feb 2020)
